The birth of a Clairjoie product

Clairjoie organic cosmetics are developed and manufactured in our own laboratory in the Loire-Atlantique region.
How do you decide on a new product to create?
It is important for a cosmetic brand to keep its range alive. Some products are timeless, others meet a need for a given time only. Expectations for beauty products are constantly evolving.
More generally, a wide range allows to meet the needs of all in terms of beauty.
We are fortunate at Clairjoie to benefit from the expertise and feedback of the Clairjoie beauticians as close as possible to our consumers. Meeting their expectations is the first criterion for choosing the product to be developed.
The formulation of an organic Clairjoie cosmetic product
The Clairjoie laboratory is a laboratory for formulating organic cosmetics. Our expertise allows us to develop natural cosmetics, effective and very pleasant to use.
Our cosmetic formulation talents are put to the benefit of Clairjoie and other brands that want to develop exclusively natural and organic treatments.
A formulation project is supervised by the person in charge of the laboratory who will be responsible for selecting the natural and biological raw materials that will be used in the composition of the product. A first theoretical formula is proposed. Testing then begins. You should know that cosmetic formulation is a profession that requires a lot, a lot of patience!
Fatou Keita, the brand’s founding cosmetologist, likes to recount the very long hours it took her to develop the brand’s first cosmetics. This formulation work is an integral part of the DNA of the Clairjoie brand.
Today, the creation of one of our products involves at least two people in the laboratory, who make the first physico-chemical evaluations (pH, density etc...) and organoleptic (texture, perfume, color, as in the photo above taken at Clairjoie).
If one or more tests seem satisfactory, they are put in a heating oven to simulate the ageing of the product and ensure that it remains stable on the criteria defined above.
The product is then presented to a wider group of people working at Clairjoie for a first organoleptic evaluation.
These sessions are often the subject of lively debates because each(e) wants to defend the texture or perfume he or she prefers!
Once a formula is chosen, the product passes the regulatory tests bacteriological and skin tolerance; for recall, the legislation prohibits the testing of finished products on animals.
The formula is validated, the product is stable and has passed the tests. So it can be manufactured!
What about marketing? What about the press?
The release of a new product is accompanied by a presentation to our clients via a text written by the marketing department on the laboratory’s proposal to ensure that the allegations are well founded.
The product is also previewed to the press via La Lune Baroque agency that manages our press relations.
Clairjoie beauticians also benefit from a preview of the new product.
